CalPortland Awarded Environmental Excellence Awards From NSSGA

The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) announced the recipients of the Environmental Excellence Awards, which recognizes operations that actively demonstrate a commitment to the exemplary use of environmental controls and systems. NSSGA awarded a total of nine Gold, 10 Silver and 63 Bronze Awards. CalPortland’s New River, Arizona plant was honored with the Silver Award and the Diablo, Arizona plant was honored with the Bronze Award.

“Our industry could not operate without being good environmental stewards of our natural resources. We congratulate those who strive for environmental excellence in their organizations by announcing the winners of our Environmental Awards of Excellence,” said NSSGA President & CEO Michael Johnson. “Despite the challenges of the past year, NSSGA’s members continue to raise the bar with their commitment and engagement to environmental issues for our industry.”

NSSGA’s Environmental Excellence Awards were recognized in a ceremony during NSSGA’s Legislative & Policy Forum held Sept. 27-29.
