CalPortland Celebrates Six Facilities Achieving ENERGY STAR® Challenge for Industry

CalPortland is proud to announce that six of its facilities have successfully achieved the ENERGY STAR® Challenge for Industry, demonstrating the company’s continued commitment to energy efficiency, operational excellence, and environmental stewardship.

The ENERGY STAR Challenge for Industry is a global initiative that encourages industrial facilities to improve energy efficiency by reducing energy intensity by at least 10% within five years. Facilities that meet or exceed this goal demonstrate measurable progress in improving operational performance while reducing their environmental impact.

CalPortland’s facilities that surpassed the Challenge goal through focused energy management strategies and continuous operational improvements:

• Las Vegas Cement Terminal reduced energy intensity by 28.7% in two years.
• Eastgate Henderson Ready Mix Plant reduced energy intensity by 26.3% in two years.
• Fountain Hills Ready Mix Plant reduced energy intensity by 12.6% in two years.
• Woodland Ready Mix Plant reduced energy intensity by 11.3% in two years.
• River Street Cement Terminal reduced energy intensity by 11.2% in two years.
• Sparks Cement Terminal reduced energy intensity by 11.0% in two years.

Participation in the ENERGY STAR Challenge for Industry encourages facilities to identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption through process improvements, equipment upgrades, and ongoing monitoring of plant performance. These initiatives help lower operating costs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and conserve valuable energy resources while strengthening long-term operational sustainability.
