CalPortland Celebrates Stockton Terminal Dome Expansion with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

CalPortland officially celebrated the commissioning of its Stockton Terminal Dome Expansion with a ribbon cutting ceremony at its Stockton Terminal, marking a significant investment in the region’s infrastructure supply chain and the future of lower-carbon construction.
The event brought together local and state leaders, including California State Senator Jerry McNerney, California State Assemblymember Rhodesia Ransom, Mike Anderson, Chief of Staff for San Joaquin County Supervisor Mario Gardea, and Port of Stockton Commissioner Bill Trezza, who joined CalPortland employees and community partners in recognizing the milestone.
For more than 20 years, CalPortland has operated a single storage dome at the Port of Stockton, serving customers throughout Northern California and the Central Valley. The expansion adds two modern, fully enclosed storage domes, significantly increasing the terminal’s capacity and flexibility to meet growing regional demand.
“This project reflects CalPortland’s commitment to investing responsibly in the infrastructure that supports our communities,” said CalPortland President, Bill Mulllen. “The addition of these two new domes strengthens our ability to reliably deliver the cementitious materials needed to build affordable homes, schools, transportation systems, utilities, and other critical infrastructure projects throughout the region.”
The Stockton Terminal plays a vital role in the distribution of construction materials that support economic growth and community development. The expanded facility will help ensure a reliable supply of essential building materials while providing greater flexibility to store and distribute lower-carbon cementitious products that support more sustainable construction practices.
The fully enclosed domes enhance operational efficiency and material management while reinforcing CalPortland’s commitment to responsible stewardship and long-term investment in the communities it serves.
“We are grateful to the elected officials, community leaders, customers, and partners who joined us to celebrate this important milestone,” said Allen Hamblen, CalPortland CEO. “Together, we are helping build a stronger future by expanding access to the materials needed for modern infrastructure while supporting the industry’s transition toward lower-carbon construction solutions.”
