Our commitment to continuously improve our environmental performance while providing positive contributions to our company and to society is a product of not just our words but also of our actions. CalPortland is committed to solving tomorrow’s challenges today through the advancement of sustainable materials and renewable technologies.

For several decades, CalPortland has been an industry leader on energy conservation and environmental quality. The company was one of the first industrial companies to construct a 24 MW wind turbine electrical generation facility on its property to provide electricity for the operation of its Mojave cement plant. The wind farm is comprised of eight 3MW turbines. At the time of its construction, the project was the largest behind the meter wind project in the country.

CalPortland has been recognized nationally for energy conservation, emission reduction, recycling, and plant safety. The company has been awarded the prestigious U.S. EPA ENERGY STAR PARTNER OF THE YEAR – Sustained Excellence award continuously from 2005 through 2020. That’s sixteen consecutive years of recognition by the country’s leading energy agency, a feat unmatched by any other industrial company!
