What is Portland Limestone Cement?
Portland limestone cement (PLC) is an ASTM C595 general purpose blended cement containing between 5-15% limestone (Type IL). ASTM C150, ordinary portland cement standards, allow for up to 5% limestone replacement.
What Are The Benefits of Portland Limestone Cement?
Type IL portland-limestone cement reduces the amount of CO2 in the manufacturing process as compared to common ASTM C150 cements by approximately 10 percent while maintaining product performance requirements.

What is CalPortland’s ADVANCEMENT™?
Introducing ADVANCEMENT™, CalPortland’s new ASTM C595 line of blended cements. The product line features ADVANCEMENT LT, a light colored cement formulated for use in normal and architectural colored applications of masonry, concrete, precast and plaster products.
ADVANCEMENT HS is for use in high-sulfate soil conditions. ADVANCEMENT HS lowers CO2 by up to 10% compared to ordinary portland cement.

Precautions
Type IL cement is not for use in areas subject to sulfates in soils. For precise product application it is important to refer to the project specification.
Contact with cement (including un-hardened concrete, mortar, wet cement, or cement admixtures) can cause skin irritation, severe chemical burns, or serious eye damage. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Seek immediate medical attention if you have persistent or severe discomfort. In case of eye contact, flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Consult a physician immediately.
