CalPortland is proud of receive the NRMCA Concrete Cares Award, recognizing the meaningful impact CalPortland continues to make in our communities.

CalPortland’s community commitment is built on connection. Over the past year, employees supported more than 40 education programs and 300 community initiatives, reaching over 178,000 people through hands-on service and partnership. Across the regions where CalPortland operates, teams worked side by side with neighbors, nonprofits, schools, and civic organizations to support families, strengthen resilience, and invest in long-term well-being.

Their work touches lives in many ways, from supporting food banks and foster youth programs to assisting seniors, veterans, and children with special needs. A meaningful example is Angela’s House in Portland, Oregon, where CalPortland donated 800 cubic yards of concrete to help build a new home with 52 resident rooms for women and children escaping homelessness, addiction, and abuse. Over the next decade, the facility is expected to support more than 2,000 women and children, creating a foundation of safety and stability that supports healing and long-term independence.

Education is another cornerstone of CalPortland’s broader community service commitment. Employees visit local classrooms, welcome students to plants and quarries, and partner with school districts and universities to provide hands-on experiences that spark curiosity.

That same commitment extends to environmental stewardship, from pollinator habitat at the El Segundo Ready Mix Plant to trail restoration and disaster recovery efforts that help communities recover, restore critical spaces, and rebuild what matters most.

For CalPortland, building stronger communities means showing up with materials, expertise, and people, creating lasting impact through care, partnership, and long-term commitment to the places we all call home.
