CalPortland is proud to announce that its Ready Mix plants in Lompoc, Morton, and Newberg have successfully achieved the ENERGY STAR Challenge for Industry.

The ENERGY STAR Challenge for Industry is a global call-to-action encouraging industrial facilities to improve energy efficiency by reducing energy intensity by at least 10% within five years. Facilities that meet or exceed this goal demonstrate measurable progress toward improving operational efficiency while reducing environmental impact.
CalPortland’s plants significantly exceeded this goal through focused operational improvements and energy management efforts:
- The Lompoc Ready Mix Plant achieved a 37% reduction in energy intensity within two years.
- The Morton Ready Mix Plant achieved a 29% reduction within one year.
- The Newberg Ready Mix Plant achieved a 12.1% reduction within one year.
This recognition marks the second time both the Lompoc and Newberg plants have achieved the ENERGY STAR Challenge for Industry, highlighting their continued leadership and long-term commitment to energy efficiency and responsible resource management.
By participating in the ENERGY STAR Challenge for Industry, facilities work to identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption through improved processes, equipment upgrades, and ongoing monitoring of plant performance. These efforts not only help reduce operating costs but also contribute to lowering greenhouse gas emissions and conserving valuable energy resources.
CalPortland remains committed to advancing sustainability across its operations by continuously improving efficiency, investing in innovative technologies, and empowering employees to identify opportunities that drive meaningful environmental progress.
CalPortland extends its congratulations and sincere appreciation to the plant officials and team members whose hard work, collaboration, and commitment made this achievement possible.
