HOT MIXED ASPHALT PAVEMENT (HMA)
About 94% of U.S. roads and highways are surfaced with asphalt, the most recycled material in America (70 million tons of asphalt pavements recycled every year). Asphalt pavement is normally comprised of 95 percent aggregate (stone, sand, or gravel) and 5% asphalt cement binder.

Currently CalPortland manufactures and provides asphalt (HMA) from its Orange Grove Plant located in Tucson, AZ; the Paso Robles Plant located in Paso Robles, CA; and the Garey Plant located in Garey, CA in the Santa Maria, CA area.

Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) Pavement
CalPortland also produces Warm Mix Asphalt with lower-temperature mixtures allowing for reductions in natural gas used in production therefore reducing green house gas emissions, and providing the added benefit of improved compaction.
